I get questions from concerned Moms about hair growth and bone growth for their kids. Garden Cress seeds have many benefits. The seeds are oily, sticky but have pungent taste and hot potency. These unique qualities helps in balancing Vata and Kapha. The sticky and oily consistency also helps with bone growth and hair growth. These seeds are also helpful in regulating the menstruation. Here is the yummy recipe of Garden Cress Laddoo but make sure to use it in winter when the digestive fire is really high
Ingredients
- Garden Cress Seeds–3/4th cup
- Jaggery/Coconut Sugar/Date Sugar/Raw Sugar–1/2 cup
- Cream of rice/Rava–1/4th cup
- Ghee–1 tablespoon
- Freshly grated coconut–1/4th cup
- Elaichi Powder/Cinnamon powder–few pinches
Method
Soak the seeds in 1/2 a cup of water for about 3-4 hours. Heat ghee in a tava and add the soaked seeds, sugar and rava and roast for about 8-10 minutes. Sugar starts melting and can burn if you don’t mix continuously. Add coconut and fry again for another few minutes, add elaichi powder and transfer to a different container. Grease your hands with some ghee and make balls with the mixture after it cools down. This is a tasty, healthy dessert.
