Quick Consultations: Focused Support Between Full Visits
A quick Ayurvedic consultation at Ayurhitam is a 15 to 20 minute focused session designed for established Ayurhitam clients who need a specific question answered, a herb refill discussed, or a brief symptom check-in between full follow-up appointments. Available at both our Fremont and Sunnyvale locations, and often over video consult, quick consultations give you access to your certified Ayurvedic practitioner without needing to book a full follow-up.
Quick consultations exist because Ayurvedic care does not happen only in the clinic. Life keeps moving between your scheduled visits: a new symptom shows up, you run out of an herb, a family member asks you a question about your protocol, or you simply want to check in briefly. A quick consultation is the right format for these focused moments, without needing to reschedule a full 30 to 45 minute follow-up.
Who is a Quick Consultation For?
Quick consultations are designed for established Ayurhitam clients who have already completed their initial consultation and are following a personalised protocol. They are not appropriate for new clients or new health concerns that need a full assessment. If any of the following describes you, a quick consultation is likely the right fit:
- You need a herb refill and want to confirm the dosage with your practitioner
- You have one specific question about your current protocol
- A single new symptom has come up and you want a quick check-in
- You are traveling and want to confirm which of your practices to prioritise
- You are considering adding or pausing a specific therapy and want practitioner input
- You want to check in briefly between your regular follow-ups
When Should I Book a Full Follow-Up Instead?
A quick consultation is not the right format for every situation. Please book a full follow-up consultation instead if:
- You are due for your regular protocol review
- You have multiple concerns or questions to discuss
- A significant new health concern has emerged
- Your concerns have shifted meaningfully since your last full visit
- You want a full re-assessment of pulse, tongue, and current state
- It has been more than 3 months since your last full follow-up
If you are not sure which format is right, call the clinic and our team will help you choose. Sometimes what starts as a quick question turns out to need a full follow-up, and that is a helpful clarification to make before your appointment.
What Happens During a Quick Consultation?
A quick consultation is focused and time-bounded. In 15 to 20 minutes, your practitioner:
- Addresses your specific question or concern: The single focus of the session. Not a full protocol review.
- Provides clear guidance: Whether that is a dosage adjustment, a symptom-specific recommendation, or a decision about a therapy.
- Recommends next steps: Whether the situation is fully addressed by the quick consult, or whether it needs a full follow-up as a next step.
Because the format is short, please come with your one clear question or concern well-framed. If you find that you have more to discuss than fits, your practitioner may recommend rescheduling as a full follow-up so you get the time you actually need.
Quick Consultations vs Follow-Ups vs Initial Consultations
- Initial Consultation ($250, 60-90 min): Deep-dive first assessment for new clients or clients returning after a long gap. Full pathophysiology mapping and same-day protocol design.
- Follow-Up Consultation (30-45 min): Regular protocol review and adjustment for established clients. Full re-assessment, protocol updates, and cadence-based check-in.
- Quick Consultation (15-20 min): Focused, single-question support between full follow-ups. Herb refills, symptom check-ins, quick clarifications.
Choose the format that fits what you actually need. If you are ever unsure, our team will guide you when you call to book.
Can Quick Consultations be Virtual?
Yes, quick consultations work beautifully as video or phone consults. Because the format is focused on a specific question rather than a hands-on assessment, virtual delivery is often the most convenient option. In-person quick consultations are also available at Fremont and Sunnyvale if you prefer or if you are picking up herbs during your visit.
What is Included in the Quick Consultation Fee
- Included: The full 15 to 20 minute focused session with your certified Ayurvedic practitioner, either in person or virtually, plus any specific written guidance for your question.
- Not included: The cost of any herbs discussed, refilled, or prescribed. Herbs can be purchased through Ayurhitam at additional cost.
- Therapies: Any recommended clinical therapies are booked and priced separately.
Payment and Insurance
Quick consultations, like all Ayurvedic services, are not covered by health insurance. You are welcome to use an FSA or HSA card if you have one, subject to your plan’s eligibility rules. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. Payment is due at the time of the consultation.
Why Choose Ayurhitam for Quick Consultations
- Available at two Bay Area locations plus virtual: Quick consultations at both our Fremont clinic and our Sunnyvale clinic, or via video/phone consult for maximum convenience.

- Focused, time-efficient: 15 to 20 minutes to address a specific question, without needing to book a full session.
- Between-visit flexibility: Real practitioner access when questions or concerns come up outside your regular follow-up schedule.
- Right-sized to your need: If a quick consult uncovers something that needs more time, your practitioner will guide you to the right next step.

No. Quick consultations are designed for established Ayurhitam clients who have already completed their initial 60 to 90 minute assessment. New clients need the full initial consultation ($250) to establish the baseline that all subsequent quick consultations and follow-ups build on.
Yes, quick consultations work particularly well as virtual video or phone consults. Because the format is focused on a specific question rather than hands-on assessment, virtual delivery is often the most convenient option. In-person quick consultations are also available at Fremont and Sunnyvale.
A follow-up consultation is a full 30 to 45 minute protocol review with re-assessment and adjustments. A quick consultation is a focused 15 to 20 minute session for one specific question or need. Follow-ups review your whole protocol; quick consultations address a single specific matter. Both have their place in ongoing Ayurvedic care.
If you have one specific question, one new symptom to check on, a herb refill to discuss, or a single decision to make, a quick consultation is likely the right fit. If you have multiple things to discuss, you are due for your regular protocol review, or a significant new concern has emerged, book a full follow-up. When in doubt, call the clinic and our team will help you choose.
Yes. Discussing a herb refill and confirming your current dosage is one of the most common reasons for a quick consultation. If your dosage or formulation needs to change based on how your body is responding, your practitioner will make that adjustment during the quick consult and may recommend a full follow-up if a larger review is needed.
Quick consultations at Ayurhitam are offered at both Fremont (43255 Mission Blvd, Suite 100) and Sunnyvale (170 N Wolfe Rd), plus virtual video and phone consults. Call 510-556-3738 to book.
